Plumber Morpeth
Morpeth sits beside Tenambit, and Tenambit Plumbing Co covers it on the same run. Drains, hot water, gas work and after-hours faults are all in scope across the town, with a fixed figure named before work starts. Ring (02) 4915 2998 or send the form.
Drainage older than most in the Hunter. The town began as a private river port in the 1830s, and buildings from that era still send their waste through clay lines laid when the wharves did the work. That pipe grabs roots and silt at every slipped joint, and stretches of it still give way under yards and laneways.
Supply lines hidden in the fabric. Steel water pipe set in stone and brick gives out section by section, and it fights any quick swap. Care around old footings is part of every dig here, which is why we trace a line before we open ground near the older cottages.
Gas behind the shopfronts. In the Swan Street shops and cottages that have been converted over the years, gas fittings patched by several generations sit hidden behind old timber joinery. Each gas job starts with a pressure test on what is already there, so you know the line is sound before an appliance goes on it.
Wet ground near the river. The commercial terrace stays dry through ordinary river swings, but the flats out toward Queens Wharf Road sit in ground that never fully dries, pressing damp at cellars, footings and anything buried. When the Hunter rises in a long wet spell, the low streets flood ahead of the rest and anything serviceable needs isolating quickly.

The work we run through town
Emergency plumbing
For supply pipe that ruptures inside a heritage wall, and gas faults in the closely built shop rows
Blocked drain clearing
For the aged clayware, grease off the tourism strip, and roots from trees along the riverbank and in old gardens
Hot water repairs and replacements
For heritage cottages and later brick homes alike
Gas fitting
For cooktops, space heaters and the aged fittings behind shopfront joinery
Footage first in the old streets. A drain job here can start with a CCTV drain inspection, because the camera settles whether a line needs clearing or a repair. When the pipe is cracked rather than choked, pipe relining can seal it from the inside without opening a heritage yard.
Roots are the recurring enemy. Established garden and river-bank trees mine every joint that opens, so tree root removal earns its keep here too. Census figures put the town at 749 dwellings with a median age of 55, and 40.5 per cent of homes owned outright.
The strata and real estate side covers rental cottages and the newer brick houses on the town's Raworth side; Raworth is on this same run. Whatever the fault, the figure is named before a tool comes out.
Morpeth Questions
Can you work on plumbing behind heritage walls without damaging the brick or stone?
Yes, and care is the whole job in the older town. We trace the line before anything gets opened, send the camera in where masonry hides the pipe, and keep any cutting to the smallest patch that reaches the fault. Old steel supply lines set in masonry give out section by section, so we map what is there before we touch it.
Do you clear the cafe drains on the heritage main street?
We do. Tearoom and cafe kitchens send grease into shared drains, and weekend visitor peaks add to it, while the old clayware under the town holds it at each slipped joint. A jetter clears the line, then the camera tells us if the pipe itself is due for repair.
